The Colorado Community College System consists of 13 community colleges across the state of Colorado. Created by legislation in 1967, it serves more than 163,000 students annually. Its dual oversight of community colleges and vocational education for the State of Colorado is unique in the nation.The system is governed by the nine-member State Board for Community Colleges and Occupational Education (SBCCOE).
