David Tritton was a fluid dynamicist.Tritton was born in Slough on 26 July 1935.He received his PhD under Alan Townsend at Cambridge on "Experiments on Flow past Cylinders and Free Convection".Subsequently he worked at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in the UK.He was a visiting professor in Texas when he died on 24 April 1998.Tritton is best known for his widely-read textbook "Physical Fluid Dynamics".
