John Simpson Hastings (June 30, 1898 – February 7, 1977) was a United States federal judge.Born in Washington, Indiana, Hastings received a B.S. from U.S. Military Academy, West Point, New York in 1920 and was a Lieutenant in the United States Army, Field Artillery from 1920 to 1921. He received an LL.B. from Indiana University School of Law in 1924, and was thereafter in private practice in Washington, Indiana until 1957. On March 14, 1957, Hastings was nominated by President Dwight D.
