Joseph Muscat (born 22 January 1974) is a Maltese politician who has been Prime Minister of Malta since 2013. Muscat has been leader of the Labour Party since 6 June 2008, and he was Leader of the Opposition from 1 October 2008 to 10 March 2013. Previously he was a Member of the European Parliament from 2004 to 2008.After the Labour Party's victory in the March 2013 general election, Muscat took office as Prime Minister on 11 March 2013.
