The station's broadcast license is held by Tati Broadcasting, LLC.Previously a smooth jazz station licensed as KNIK-FM, the call sign was a reference to the Knik River. On August 27, 2009, the station began stunting as a prelude to a format change bu playing the top 100 songs of 1970 through 1989, one year per day.
