Markus Greiner is a German physicist. He is the winner of the thesis award of the American Physical Society 2004 and of the William L. McMillan Award 2005 for outstanding contributions in condensed matter physics. He was named a 2011 MacArthur FellowHe studied under the 2005 Nobel Laureate Theodor Hänsch at the Ludwig-Maximilians University and at the Max-Planck-Institute of Quantum Optics, where he received his diploma in physics.
