Overisel Township is a civil township of Allegan County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 2,911 at the 2010 census.Overisel was named after the Dutch province of Overijssel. Overisel is the birthplace of mathematician George David Birkhoff, best known for what is now called the "ergodic theory".
