Salem State University is a four-year public University located in Salem, Massachusetts. Salem State University, established in 1854 as Salem Normal School, is located approximately fifteen miles north of Boston, Massachusetts. Salem State enrolls under 10,000 undergraduate and graduate students from 27 states and 57 foreign countries. In 1932 the institution was renamed Salem Teachers College, and from 1968 to 2010 it was known as Salem State College.
