Tadcaster is a market town and civil parish in the Selby district of North Yorkshire, England. It is situated approximately 3 miles (5 km) east from the Great North Road, 12 miles (19 km) north-east from Leeds, and 10 miles (16 km) south-west from York. It is the last town on the River Wharfe before it joins the River Ouse about 10 miles (16 km) downstream.
