Winestead is a village in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England, in an area known as Holderness. It is situated approximately 7 miles (11 km) south-east of the town of Hedon and 1.5 miles (2.4 km) north-west of the village of Patrington. It is situated to the north of the A1033 road. It forms part of the civil parish of Patrington.It is also the ancient seat of the Hildyard/Hilliard/Hildegardis family, whose ancestry is believed to be of Saxon origin.
