Alan William Francis Mullarkey (12 July 1937 - 10 February 2007) was the Mayor of Derby, England, between 1996 and 1997. He held a variety of positions in the community throughout his life including city councillor for the Sinfin ward (1983–2002), Chair for the China Friendship Association, Labour Party candidate for Boulton in 2004 and a school governor from 1976 until his retirement in October 2006.Mullarkey narrowly escaped a German bombing during World War II.
