Allan Edward Reuter (August 9, 1914 – December 31, 1982) was a Canadian politician and Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario in the 1970s.The eldest of six children, Reuter was born in Preston, Ontario. His father, Stanley was a wood pattern maker. Reuter dropped out of high school at the age of sixteen in order to help support his family by taking a job as an office boy at the Savage Shoe Company. He was office manager when he joined the Royal Canadian Naval Volunteer Reserve in 1943.
