The Almohad Caliphate (Berber: Imweḥḥden, from Arabic الموحدون al-Muwaḥḥidun, "the monotheists" or "the unifiers") was a Moroccan Berber Muslim movement founded in the 12th century.The Almohad movement was started by Ibn Tumart among the Masmuda tribes of southern Morocco.
