Andrey Alexandrovich Goncharov (Russian: Андре́й Алекса́ндрович Гончаро́в, January 2, 1918, Ryazan Governorate, Soviet Russia, - September 7, 2001, Moscow, Russian Federation) was a Soviet theatre director, drama pedagogue and author. Goncharov, the People's Artist of the USSR (1977), received numerous state awards, including Order of the Hero of Socialist Labour (1987) and Order of Lenin (1987). For more than thirty years (1967-2001) Goncharov was the head of the Moscow Mayakovsky Theatre.
