The Arabian Peninsula (Arabic: شبه الجزيرة العربية šibh al-jazīra al-ʿarabiyya or جزيرة العرب jazīrat al-ʻArab), also known as Arabia, is a peninsula of Western Asia situated north-east of Africa on the Arabian plate. From a geological perspective, the Arabian peninsula is considered a subcontinent of Asia.It is the largest peninsula in the world, at 3,237,500 square kilometers (1,250,000 square miles).
