The Battle of Chakan was fought between the Maratha Empire and the Mughal Empire in the year 1660. The Mughal emperor Aurangzeb was enraged with Shaistakhan as he was living his life in luxury in the Deccan in spite of attacking and destroying the Marathas. Aurangzeb sent a letter to Shaistakhan after which Shaistakhan immediately took action. He along with 30000 troops laid siege to the Chakan Fort, known as Sangramdurg in Marathi. Firangoji Narsala was the killedar of Chakan Fort.
