Benjamin Eric "Ben" Sasse (pronounced sass; born February 22, 1972) is a Republican politician who is the junior United States Senator from Nebraska. Previously, he served as the 15th President of Midland University in Fremont, Nebraska from December 2010 until December 2014. On November 4, 2014, Sasse was elected to fill the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by Mike Johanns, defeating David Domina by a margin of 64.8–31.1%.
