Bernette Joshua Johnson (born June 1943) is an African-American Democrat lawyer from her native New Orleans, Louisiana, who has been since 2013 the chief justice of the Louisiana Supreme Court. She succeeded another woman, Catherine D. Kimball of Ventress in Pointe Coupee Parish, who retired for health reasons.
