Betsy Russell Baker (August 20, 1842 – October 24, 1955) was a British-born American supercentenarian. She was the first listed supercentenarian by the Guinness World Records as the world's then-oldest person. In 2002, researchers confirmed she was the world's oldest living person by modern verification standards for an unknown period of time prior to her death on 24 October 1955.Born in Great Brington, England in the United Kingdom, she immigrated to the U.S. state of Nebraska.
