Richard "Bill" Armstrong (July 16, 1873 – August 4, 1938) was the seventh head college football coach for the United States Naval Academy Midshipmen located in Annapolis, Maryland and he held that position for three seasons, from 1897 until 1899. His coaching record at United States Naval Academy was 20 wins, 5 losses, and 0 ties. He was born in Connecticut in 1873.Armstrong was also a head coach for the College of William & Mary's football team.
