Brekstad is the administrative centre of the municipality of Ørland in Sør-Trøndelag county, Norway. The city is located on the Trondheimsfjord at the entrance to the Stjørnfjord. It is about 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) south of Uthaug and about 7 kilometres (4.3 mi) west of Austrått and Ottersbo.The 1.77-square-kilometre (440-acre) city has a population (2013) of 1,943.
