Camulodunum (/ˌkæmjʊloʊˈdjuːnəm/ or /ˌkæmʊloʊˈduːnəm/; Latin: CAMVLODVNVM), the Ancient Roman name for what is now Colchester in Essex, was an important town in Roman Britain, and the first capital of the province. It is claimed to be the oldest town in Britain.
