Christoper John Lamb CBE FRS (19 March 1950 – 21 August 2009) was a Professor of Plant Biology at the University of East Anglia and director of the John Innes Centre.His field of study was plant–pathogen interactions, and he made many contributions to the understanding of plant pathology.Lamb graduated from the Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge with a Bachelor of Arts in Natural Sciences in 1972 which was followed by a PhD in Plant Biochemistry in 1976 also in Cambridge.
