Crane County is a county located in the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2010 census, its population was 4,375. The county seat is Crane. The county was created in 1887 and later organized in 1927. It was named for William Carey Crane, a president of then-Southern Baptist-affiliated Baylor University in Waco, Texas.
