Dalkeith (/dæl.ˈkiːθ/ dal-KEETH) Scottish Gaelic: Dail Cheith) is a town in Midlothian, Scotland, on the River Esk. It was granted a burgh of barony in 1401 and a burgh of regality in 1540.
