David Klein (Hebrew: דוד קליין‎; born 1935) is an Israeli who served as the governor of the Bank of Israel from January 2000 to January 2005.Klein received his higher education at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, obtaining a BA in 1959 in general history and economics. In 1972 he obtained his PhD in economics from George Washington University with thesis titled Velocity of Money, Production Costs, and Short-run Price Level Determination.
