Dennison Wheelock (June 14, 1871 – March 10, 1927) was an internationally renowned American Indian band conductor and cornet soloist of the late 19th and early 20th centuries; he was also a composer. Wheelock was compared at the time to John Philip Sousa, and nominated to be bandmaster of the United States Marine Band.
