Sir Desmond Henry "Des" O'Neil (27 September 1920 – 25 September 1999) was an Australian politician who was Deputy Premier of Western Australia between 1975 and 1980. He served as a Liberal member of the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia between 1959 and 1980, and was a minister in the Brand–Nalder, Court–McPharlin, and Court governments.Born in Perth, to Lillian Frances (née Egan) and Henry McLelland O'Neil, O'Neil went to Aquinas College, and later attended Claremont Teachers College.
