The Detroit Institute of Technology was a fully accredited, four-year technical college in Detroit, Michigan that closed operations in 1981.First called the Association Institute, the private school was founded in 1891, and later developed into a private engineering and science college in conjunction with the Detroit YMCA, formalizing its evening adult education program; the later name was adopted in 1918.A pharmacy program, originally organized under the Detroit College of Medicine, became part of the school in 1907.
