Dhaunkal (Urdu, Punjabi دھونکل) is a town in Gujranwala district, Punjab, Pakistan. It is located on the Lahore-Islamabad Highway, 28 kilometres from the district capital Gujranwala and about 15 kilometres from Gujrat. Dhaunkal is one of the biggest and oldest towns in Wazirabad Tehsil. The old name of Dhaunkal is Klairian Wala or Kot Klairian which was changed to Dhaunkal by the famous Sufi Saint Hazrat Sakhi Sarwar Syed Ahmed Sultan.
