Dipterocarpus nudus grows as a large tree up to 50 metres (160 ft) tall, with a trunk diameter of up to 1.3 metres (4 ft 3 in). The crown is dark and dense. Fruit is ellipsoid, up to 2.5 centimetres (0.98 in) long. It is found in a variety of habitats, from sea-level to 600 metres (2,000 ft) altitude. D. nudus is endemic to Borneo.
