Edessa (/ɪˈdɛsə/; Ancient Greek: Ἔδεσσα; Classical Syriac: ܐܘܪܗܝ Urhāy; Armenian: Եդեսիա Yedesia or Armenian: Ուռհա Uṙha) was an ancient city in upper Mesopotamia, refounded on an earlier site by Seleucus I Nicator, and is now Şanlıurfa, Turkey.
