Lieutenant-General Sir Edward Macarthur KCB (16 March 1789 – 4 January 1872) was a lieutenant-general in the British Army, Commander-in-chief of British forces in Australia from 1855 and was an administrator in 1856 for 12 months after the death of Governor of Victoria, Sir Charles Hotham.
