Eric Catchpole is a character in the British television series Lovejoy adapted from the novels by Jonathan Gash. He was played by actor Chris Jury.The son of a local butcher and initially Lovejoy's paying trainee, he quickly becomes Lovejoy's younger, enthusiastic but ever so slightly dim assistant often acting as a general dogsbody. He rides a motorbike, wears a creole earring in his left ear and listens to heavy metal music and has a Suffolk accent.
