Farhad Hafezi (born 1967 in Remscheid, Germany) is a Swiss eye surgeon and researcher. From 1994 until 2004 Hafezi was recognized as a leading researcher in the field of retinal degeneration, but in 2003 he began his research on the cornea, for which he is internationally known today. In the beginning of his research career, Hafezi was part of the team to discover the first gene that was responsible for light-induced retinal degeneration.
