The song was a top 40 hit in Canada, peaking at #38 on the RPM 100 Singles Chart, Canada's then only national singles chart which measured hit singles across Canada. It also peaked at #23 on the Canadian CHUM singles chart, a Top 40 chart that measured hit singles in the Toronto area, on June 26 that year.
