Francesco Gonin (Turin, December 16, 1808- Giaveno, near Susa, Piedmont, September 14, 1889) was an Italian painter, engraver, and scenographer.His father was of French stock, and his mother, Sara Castanier, was from Germany. He initially studied under Giovanni Battista Biscarra in the Accademia Albertina, and later learned fresco painting from Luigi Vacca. He married the daughter of the scenographer of the Teatro Regio at Turin.
