Gazi Mazharul Anwar is a Bangladeshi film director, producer, lyricist, screenplay writer, freedom fighter, and music director. He has earned the National Film Award for best lyricist a record five times in 1992, 1996, 2001, 2002 and 2003. He participated in the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War. He worked as a lyricist in the "Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra" in 1971. He later worked with Sabina Yasmin and helped establish her as a prominent name in Bangladeshi playback singing.
