The General People's Congress (Arabic: المؤتمر الشعبي العام, GPC; transliterated: Al-Mo'tamar Ash-Sha'abiy Al-'Aam) is a political party in Yemen.It was founded on 24 August 1982 in Sana'a, Yemen, by President Ali Abdullah Saleh. The party is dominated by a nationalist line, and its official ideology is Arab nationalism, seeking Arab unity.The number of parliamentary seats belonging the party in 1993 and 1997 terms were 123 and 187, respectively.
