The German Progress Party (German: Deutsche Fortschrittspartei, DFP) was the first modern platform–based political party in Germany, founded by liberal members of the Prussian House of Representatives (Abgeordnetenhaus) in 1861, in opposition to Minister President Otto von Bismarck.
