Giouvetsi or Youvetsi (from Turkish language güveç) is a baked Greek meat dish made with chicken, lamb or beef. The recipe is not complicated, but requires some preparation and a lot of cooking time. Necessary ingredients are the meat, pasta (traditionally kritharaki or hylopites, a Greek variety of egg noodles in 1cm-long squares), and the tomato sauce (usually spiced with allspice and perhaps cinnamon, cloves or bay leaves).
