Goring-on-Thames (or Goring) is a relatively large village and civil parish on the Thames in South Oxfordshire, about 5.5 miles (8.9 km) south of Wallingford and 8 miles (13 km) north-west of Reading. It has a railway station on the main line between Oxford and London in the nucleus of the village. As a civil parish, most of the land is farmed and woodland on the Goring Gap outcrop of the Chiltern Hills.
