Issa Hayatou (born 9 August 1946) is a Cameroonian former athlete and sports executive. He has been the president of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) since 1988. In 2002, he ran for president of FIFA but was defeated by former president Sepp Blatter. He is also a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).In November 2010 he was alleged by the BBC to have taken bribes in the 1990s regarding the awarding of World Cup television rights.
