The Ivatan (Ibatan) language, also known as Chirin nu Ibatan ("language of the Ivatan people"), is an Austronesian language spoken in the Batanes Islands.Despite the islands' closer proximity to Taiwan than Luzon, it is not one of the Formosan languages.
