John Dorrington (May 1881 – 9 January 1944) was an English professional footballer who spent his entire professional career as a goalkeeper at Small Heath (renamed Birmingham in 1905), for which he made over 100 appearances in the Football League.A native of Smethwick, which was then an urban district in Staffordshire, Dorrington took over in goal from Nat Robinson in 1907–08, but remained undisputed first choice for only a couple of seasons.
