James C. Paulson is an American glycobiologist, biochemist, biologist. He is acting president and CEO of The Scripps Research Institute (TSRI) and founding director of the National Institutes of Health-funded Consortium for Functional Glycomics.In 1999, he joined the full-time faculty of The Scripps Research Institute. In 2001, he became principal researcher for the Consortium for Functional Glycomics, now an organization with more than 650 participating researchers worldwide.
