Lieutenant-General Javed Iqbal HI(M) is currently the Commander of XXXI Corps. Before assuming charge he was President of the National Defence University (NDU), Islamabad; he was appointed to this position on 20 August 2013. Iqbal took over the position from his predecessor Lt Gen. Nasser Khan Janjua, who left on 20 August 2013 for his new appointment as Corps Commander, XII Corps, Quetta. At the time of appointment, Iqbal was serving as the Chief Instructor of the B Division at NDU.
