Jay W. Johnson (September 30, 1943 – October 17, 2009) was the director of the United States Mint, Democratic member of the United States House of Representatives from Wisconsin, and a former television news anchor in the Green Bay area.Johnson was born in Bessemer, Michigan. He graduated from Gogebic Community College in 1963 and Northern Michigan University in 1965. Johnson was an information specialist with the United States Army from 1966 until 1968.
