Jewish Assyrian Neo-Aramaic is a Northeastern Neo-Aramaic language spoken by Jews of Upper Mesopotamia since antiquity.The language is very similar to Assyrian Neo-Aramaic but has a Hebrew influence in it.It shares similar features with another Judeo-Aramaic languages such as Galilean Aramaic and Jewish Babylonian Aramaic as well as their older forms such as Jesus's Aramaic and Biblical Aramaic.Traditionally the Aramaic dialect are written in Hebrew alphabet although that in some cases in Zakho the language was sometimes also written in Syriac alphabet.Because almost all of the community was expelledTemplate:When? and left to Israel the language has become endangered.Probably would become extinct in the next generation.Template:According to whom?Jewish Assyrian Neo-Aramaic is the only survivor of Judeo-Aramaic languages and the only of them that survived until today as a spoken and written language.The are many loanwords that entered to the language from other languages such as Akkadian, Hebrew, Kurdish, Arabic, Persian and Turkish.
