James Edward Cahill (15 April 1903 – 21 August 1978) was an Australian politician and a member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly for one term from 1953 until 1956. He was also an indirectly elected member of the New South Wales Legislative Council between 1965 and 1970. He was a member of the Australian Labor Party (ALP).Cahill was born in the farming community of Blackville near Quirindi, New South Wales and was the son of a schoolteacher.
